Nobel Prize winners who dropped out of high school

Weldon, Free Range Learning, 16

“…some Nobel Prize winners were not high achievers in school.  William Faulkner was described as an indifferent student.  He dropped out of high school at the age of fifteen.  That didn’t stop him from later winning the 1950 Nobel Prize in Literature.  Joseph Brodsky also left school at the age of fifteen.  In 1987 he won the Nobel Prize for Literature, and in 1991 he became Poet Laureate of the United States.  Peter Agre dropped out of high school in his senior year.  His final grade in chemistry was a D.  He went on to win the 2003 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.”
